No, after clicking a “Buy Now” button or “Buy” from the main menu, you’ll land on the product page, you must then configure your PitBoss to receive the temperature sensor. Just select the temperature sensor from the sensors dropdrown menu.
1. Configure the Unit
With your unit in configuration mode, send the following message to your PitBoss:
input2 LowTemp
Note: This will trigger an alarm and your unit will start to beep.
2. Connect the Sensor
Snap the connector into input 2 on the bottom of the PitBoss unit.
Note: This should slience the alarm.
3. Test the Unit
Hold an ice cube or bag of ice against the bottom of the sensor and wait for an alarm. Do not submerge the sensor in water.
4. Installation is Complete
You will now receive a text message alert should the temperature in your property drop below 45 °F.
No, the temperature sensor is set to trigger at 45 °F. You will receive an alarm notification when the temperature drops below this level and a return to normal notification when it raises above the 45 °F threshold after an alarm.
We updated the firmware on February 14, 2014 to include the low temperature messaging. Any unit purchased on or after that date will include the new messaging. Any unit purchased before then will need an update. Please
